Three Faithful Doubters
Doubting certain church teachings — about relationships, the nature of God, or how God calls us — is not a sign of weak faith but of living faith. Honest questioning shows that we take our relationship with God seriously enough to seek truth rather than settle for easy answers. Faith that never asks or wrestles risks becoming rigid and impersonal; faith that questions grows deeper roots. When we bring our doubts into prayer and reflection within the community, they become moments of grace — openings through which God can lead us toward greater understanding, compassion, and strength. Doubts are also the seeds that make the Church grow, for through them we come to see more clearly what God is inviting us to become — as individuals, as believers, and as a people of hope.
