"Late Have I Loved You" a prayer from St Augustine

Augustine’s prayer “Late Have I Loved You” is a cry of awakening — the moment a restless heart finally recognizes that the beauty and love it sought everywhere else has always been within and around it in God. Its power lies in its honesty: regret giving way to wonder, longing transformed into gratitude. When we pray these words, we remember that no matter how long we have searched, the Holy One has never stopped seeking us.
