Material on Faith Formation Using the Renewed Vocabulary

Faith Formation as Introduction to Holy Mystery

Faith formation thrives when we move beyond old images of God as distant, absent, male, or punitive, and awaken instead to the truth of a God who is near, tender, and eternally loving. When people come to know that they are cherished from the beginning and forever, faith becomes not fear-driven but life-giving. Such formation leads us to participate more deeply in the Paschal Mystery — learning to die to selfishness and pride so that new life can flourish in us. In this way, discipleship becomes a joyful offering: the happiness of serving others, the freedom of love made real in daily life, and the radiant hope of resurrection already at work within us.
